Perhaps you`ve heard of shilajit?

I was happy to contribute to this article by @mdlinx on shilajit, a sticky organic mineral compound that has long been used in Ayurvedic medicine and which is now becoming popular in the west. Because the exact contents of the shilajit vary depending on where it`s sourced, it`s not really one thing and without proper purification, it can contain heavy metals, mycotoxins, and other dangerous substances.

I don`t discount that people have been helped by it, but it is hard to say exactly what "it" is and what elements in the shilajit that they took were helpful.

I am watching for studies with interest and hoping that useful elements can be identified and produced in safe, sustainable ways. But at this time, I do not recommend shilajit as a health product.

If you want to improve your mental clarity, sexual function, and/or sexual response, there are much safer, well-studied supplements to choose from.
