Dayna K. Kowata, N.D., L.Ac.

About Dayna K. Kowata, N.D., L.Ac.

Dr. Kowata has had a life-long affair with natural medicine, as both patient and practitioner. When she was a young girl, her family pediatrician decided to close his practice and go into teaching. After failing to find anyone capable of filling his shoes, her mother began reading about holistic medicine and started treating their family of seven with whole foods and vitamins. An interest in homeopathy quickly arose and became a favored mode of treatment.

In her current practice, Dr. Kowata incorporates diagnostic and functional medicine testing, along with diet, environmental toxin testing, epigenetic studies, lifestyle modification, mental/emotional balance, oral and intravenous vitamin and nutrient therapies, Eastern and Western botanicals, nutraceuticals, classical homeopathy, Bach Flower remedies, aromatherapy, Ayurvedic medicine, acupuncture and Chinese medicine to optimize her patients’ health and well-being.

Dr. Kowata joined the Integrative Medical Group of Irvine in 2015. Prior to that she spent 5 years as a clinic practitioner at The Susan Samueli Center for Integrative Medicine, University of California, Irvine where she treated a diverse group of patients and supervised medical residents and fellows. She has frequently lectured for UCI and within the community. She has completed internships in pediatrics, women’s medicine including natural childbirth, and volunteered at several clinics serving the homeless, HIV/AIDS patients, and recovery substance abusers.
