Areas of Expertise include Obesity and Weight Loss, Food Allergies and Sensitivities, Celiac Disease, Special dietary needs of patients with medical problems such as hypertension, lipid abnormalities, gallstones, kidney stones, osteoporosis, liver disease, chronic kidney disease, and gastrointestinal problems.
Denise understands how various forms of food allergies and sensitivities affect numerous aspects of health and the deleterious and widespread effects on health which are occurring as a consequence of the prevalence of the Standard American Diet (SAD) and the Modern Urban Diet (MUD). Working closely with each patient, she works to integrate the appropriate dietary program into the family lifestyle, acknowledging food likes and dislikes. She has an expansive file of delicious recipes, and helps the patients to learn ways to incorporate nutritious and organic foods into their daily diet.
When indicated, she helps patients undergo a “GI Detox” to assist healing of the intestinal mucosa and improve liver function. Afterwards, she guides them through the challenges of an elimination diet. The rewards of these nutritional procedures can be life-changing. Dramatic changes can occur in GI symptoms, and improvements occur in seemingly unrelated problems such as acne, eczema, skin itching, headaches, joint pains, insomnia, and mood.
Nutrition is the basis for life and Denise is experienced and skilled in finding the optimal food plan for you.
